Inspiring principles

The Quality Policies are inspired by the European guidelines for internal and external quality assurance defined by the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA) and implemented by the Ministry of University and Research (MUR) through the Agency National Evaluation of the University and Research System (ANVUR) ​​within the system of Self-Assessment, Periodic Evaluation, and Accreditation (AVA 2.0). They are, therefore, defined organically, monitored by the Quality Control, and evaluated by the Evaluation Unit. The fundamental principles concern: sharing, active participation, the culture of critical analysis and self-evaluation, moral integrity, the valorisation of merit, respect for pluralism, and attention to social responsibility.

For each of the strategic areas identified by the University, the Department's vision of quality is as follows:

Training

Design and deliver a training offer that is attentive to the needs and expectations of all interested parties and the socio-cultural-economic context of reference; define an offer aimed at pursuing increasingly valuable results and in line with the best national and international training standards.

Research

Achieve results of high scientific and cultural value, recognized in the national and international context; promote and encourage the training and scientific growth of young researchers; consolidate and expand the network of scientific reports at national and international levels; pay attention to the needs of the socio-economic context and the specificities of the reference area; assume the principles of quality assurance as a regulatory framework and methodological approach.

Third Mission

Contribute to the elaboration of a cultural project aimed at the change and social and economic growth of the regional territory, acting as a driving force for development and helping to address the problems of the Calabrian territory. The Department is driven by a natural propensity not only towards initiatives for technology transfer but also for the transfer of knowledge and Public Engagement.

Internationalization

To offer all those who live in the Department ever new opportunities to open up their professional and personal horizons to the world, both in the scientific and educational fields. Promote and combine the international attractiveness of the Department towards students and scholars with growing outgoing mobility.
